| ABOUT CHRISTINE ROUSE |
|
| Christine is the Founder and Executive Director of “Acting Without Boundaries” (AWB). Christine also serves as the Executive Director of “Kids are Kids,” an educational disabled awareness workshop that she created in 1991 at one of the ESF Summer Camps locations. She has traveled to many states to spread her message—“What makes us different makes us beautiful”—to schools, colleges, civic organizations, teacher conferences, summer camps, and conventions. Christine has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the 1994 Presidential Award from the American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine (AACPDM), presented by Governor Ed Rendell for her steadfast dedication to educating children about disabilities. She is also the recipient of a grant from the New York-based “Do Something Organization” to fund her “Kids are Kids” workbook, which she created as a result of many requests from teachers to reinforce her message after her workshop presentations. Christine has received extensive training in acting from the National Theater Workshop for the Handicapped (NTWH) and is currently working on producing a one-act play for her awareness program. Christine holds her B.A. in Elementary Education from Saint Joseph’s University.
